With no prerequisites, you can ignite your fitness career and obtain the skills and knowledge to become a gym instructor or group exercise instructor by enrolling in the Certificate III in Fitness.

Certificate III in Fitness

Fitness/gym instructor

Includes:

First Aid and CPR
Typical activities and functions in the Fitness industry
High level of vocational education getting you work ready.
4 elective units (depending on your pathway)
11 core units of competency including:
Screening and delivering training to various populations.
Gaining knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Understanding healthy eating, planning group exercise sessions.

After completing this qualification, (The Certificate III is a prerequisite to complete the Certificate IV) you can continue your pathway to complete the Certificate IV in Fitness and become a qualified Personal Trainer.

Certificate IV in Fitness

Personal Trainer

This certificate covers more advanced details of the following:

Sales & marketing

Business principles

Personalised exercise and nutritional programming

Strength, functional and specific training and conditioning principles and techniques

Psychology & behavioural sciences

Liaising with allied health professionals

Communicating with diverse populations

Improve health-related components of fitness in relatively low risk situations

Includes 12 core units and up to 8 electives.

Delivery of these courses is a mixed blend of face-to-face and online platforms. Simulated using actual gym based equipment and clients for personalised training.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

MB Training Fitness qualification costs:

The standard cost of the SIS30321 certificate 3 qualifications is $2495 including GST. 

The standard cost of the SIS40221 certificate 4 qualifications is $2495 including GST. 

The $2495 fee for service can also be paid on a payment plan over 12 months. with no more than $1500 paid on the first payment.

Recognition of Prior Learning: if you are eligible for RPL, each qualification costs $1495 inc GST.

FAQ’S

How long will it take? The nominal training time for both Certificate 3 and 4 qualifications is 12 months each. This can be completed earlier depending on the individual, and extensions can be applied for if the student cannot complete within 12 months.

Where can the training be done? Self paced theory learning is online.  Logan City studio face to face training, observations and workshops

How is the training and assessments delivered and conducted? Online which includes Self paced learning and theory quizzes and tasks. Be ready for the real world with Face to face, industry specific practical training, tasks, role plays, simulations and observations. Real life volunteers from various populations to engage with, screen and plan and deliver exercise sessions.

How many hours per week will I need to study and do assessments? Approximately 10-20 hours per week is recommended, although it depends on the individual.

What else do I need to know?

USI (unique student identifier)

As of 1 January 2015, all learners will need a unique student identifier (USI) to enrol or re-enrol in training courses.

This USI will keep your training records and results together in a single online account and will ensure that your training records are not lost.

LLN (Language Literacy and Numeracy)

For this course, a good understanding of English, as well as sound basic English reading and writing skills would be necessary along with basic mathematical skills.

Prior to your enrolment being accepted you will need to provide evidence of one of the following:

Prior completion of a course or undertaking which would have needed a similar or greater level of LLN. In this case, such evidence could include proof of the successful completion of a secondary school leaving certificate, or a certificate III or higher qualification, or other evidence that would demonstrate LLN to this level.

Completing a short LLN test at http://lln.safework.com.au/report.php . This short test is free, and you can request that the results be sent directly to me by email.

You could also present other evidence of your LLN proficiency to this level or higher.
